Kenneth
Robert Wadum, 87, died Monday evening at Risen Son Christian Village,
where he had resided since 1999.
He was a lifelong Council Bluffs resident and a retired tool and die
maker from Western Electric (Lucent Technologies) in Omaha. He was a
graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School and the American Academy of
Watch Making in Denver, Colorado. He served in the United States Army's
11th Armored Division during World War II. He served in France, Germany,
and Austria with the Army. Kenneth was a longtime Red Cross volunteer
and blood donor, and served on the Lewis Central School Board in the
late 1960's, and was a member of the American Society of Tool
Engineers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Mildred Wadum;
brothers, Earl and Harold; wife, Mary Frances Wadum (1999) and daughter,
Cheri Yvonne Van Kirk (2007).
Survivors include sons, Kenneth (Linda) of Rochester, Minn., and Michael
(Marilyn) of Omaha; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. at
Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral services will be
Friday, 10:30 a.m. also at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Valerian
Bartek, of Trenton, Neb., officiating. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery
with a luncheon to follow at First Christian Church Orchard Campus
(Highway 92). Family will direct memorials.
