My uncle was Cpl. Andrew Bobela who served in the 41st Tank Battalion, Company B. He was killed in action on Aug 24, 1945 in Regen, Germany when a bazooka hit his tank. His brother Michael, who also served in the Army, accompanied his body home to the US. Andrew received the bronze star and was buried with honors in New Jersey.

My father Joseph along with another of his brothers, John and their sister Helen proudly served this country in the War. In total, 5 Bobela's were in service at the same time.

I've been researching my family history and came across this website. I was so proud to read about my uncle and the many others who so devoutly served their country and defended freedom. You are all truly courageous.

If anyone remembers my uncle Andrew, please feel free to contact me through email. I would love to hear from someone who served with him.
