Letter received by mail - I wish to share here (Vic at Buzz Creek)
Recently Received from Mrs Harry DeSoto of PO Box 11086 Tacoma, WA 98411-0086
(Included with a request for a replacement DVD of Mauthhausen that did not play - am sending now)
Harry was in the 491st Field Artillary. There were there (at Mauthausen) ad were even hugged by prisoners. He said he really knew why he was there that day.
He has some photos in Germany of tanks and rivers(?). I don't know if any are interesting enough to print more. He wonders if any 491st men are still living. Hrry is 87.
He entered the army in 1942. Went through Frnce, Belgium, Germany, Luxemburg near Chezekstonm(?). Is there a log of the 491st travels? Or battery C? Thanks you - Mrs Harry DeSoto
(I worked in the shipyards the whole time on aircraft carriers. his hearing is so bad he can't enjoy movies, music, visiting at all. He now gets compensation.)
