My grandfather, Richard Nelson, joined Co. B, 55AIB as a replacement in late January, 1945. If anyone recalls serving with him, it would be great to hear from you. Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away several years ago. Understandably, he never said much about the war. I'm proud of him though, and am trying to piece together bits of his story for the family. If anyone has info about serving with him or in the 55th (that's not already posted on this great site), I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
