Based on what we know and your information on this site, my Father Clyde Burgard was a Sergeant Major in the 41st Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, Mechanized in the 11th Armored Division. He was at the Bulge and was in the first group that got to Mauthausen Concentration Camp on May 5, 1945. We are visiting both of those locations for the 80th anniversary in September. Is there any information that can be shared that might confirm or add to this? Thank you.
