Hi, wondering if there is anyone out there who served during the cold war, specifically early 1950's, with the 56th ENG BN who may remember my dad Harold (aka Red) Herzberg.

Regarding the Koehler 63rd Armored Infantry Battalion photos. My father S/Sgt. Thomas McNally C. Co / 63rd AIB was also good friends with S/Sgt. Frank Erbio KIA 1.13.45. I also have photos of Sgt. Erbio's gravesite having visited there in 2005. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with anyone with any additional photos or information pertaining to C Company 63rd AIB of the 11th AD.

Hello Robert,
your father served our country with my father, Roger
Keller.
Dad never spoke about what he and your father endured. I only know that men died under the responsibility of Lt. Roger Keller, my father. Perhaps that is why he never spoke about the war.
Dad is doing as best he can; at 88 years old.
I hope we can connect soon.

We were just going thru some of my mother's old scrapbooks. I came across some of my father's paperwork from when he was in the Army, his promotion orders dated 23 Apr 1943 and signed by Thomas N. Stark Colonel 41st Armored Regiment. My father, Harold W. Logan, is deceased now, but his great-grandson just joined the Army. This makes the fourth generation to serve this country.

I am searching for William P. Butler (ASN 35449427), member of Co. B, 21 st Arm. Bn.. He was at the Battle of the Bulge. Probably he was seriously wounded as his place of separation was Thayer General Hospital (Nashville, Tennessee). He enlisted in 1942 in Huntington, West Virginia.
Looking forward to hearing from anyone who can provide details on him/his next of kin.
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,

The last ime I visited here was 2006. I want to once again extend a Merry Christmas to the men who fought in the Ardennes for the ultimate freedom delivered to me. I cannot tell you how greatful I am that you folks stood up to Hitler's thugs and soundly defeated his army at the Battle of the Buldge...Having served during the Viet Nam War, I know the price you paid...May God truly bless all of you. My Dad was SSgt. Raymond Cohen who was wounded as a member of C Company 41st Tank Bn...

My grandfather, T4 Ralph Berry served in Hq Co 41st Tank Battalion. On March31, 1945 in Fulda, Germany he crewed a tank with John Duffy(bow gunner), Hernandez(driver) and Company Commander Cpt. Wilkins. They were trying to find a way through town when their tank was attacked Cpt. Wilkins was shot and my grandfather was wounded. T4 Berry took commanded of the tank and raced back to an aid station but it was to late for Cpt. Wilkins. I would like to find John Duffy, Hernandez or there families to share stories and photos from there time in Europe. Thank You!

When the snow sweeps thru the northern states at this time of year, I think back to those days of cold & misery and give thanks that so many of us survived. I toast you this December and trust your health is at least on a plateau and not degrading. After all, the best we can expect at our age is a plateau. (466) To Whom It May Concern,

I am trying to find out some information on my late uncle, Cpl Thomas Benjamin Snow, who was from Lima Ohio. I found a photo of him wearing the 11th patch on his right sleeve in two photos and I know tha he was an infantryman.

My uncle was murdered in 1957 so I never knew him and I am trying to find someone he served with to learn more about him. His discahrge reflects his later service with the Office of Military Government in Berlin from late 1945 - 1946.

He is credited with the Rhineland Campaign and the award of the CIB, but that is about as much as I know. I am attaching a photo taken of him after the war when he was in the reserves in the hopes someone might recognize him. I would be grateful for any help.

Sincerely,

Robert B. Snow

My dad Reinhold Schneider was with the 11th armored as best as I can tell from his papers that I have. I heard stories that he was infantry, and somewhere in the battles he started driving halftrack. If anyone knew my father please contact me as he like many did not discuss the war and I would like to learn about what happened to my dad. He died in 1970 from a farming accident in Wisconsin.

(444) This guy 's name is David W. Houston, Jr.
He was living in Aberdeen, Mississippi.
During the war he was in an Armored Division but we don't know what division ?
After Christmas 1944, he was billeted for 2 to 3 days in the Mernier Family at Bernimont, a tiny village close to Neufch?teau, Belgium.
Do you maybe know him and do you know what was his former unit ?

I discovered this site through my Great Uncle who found out I was interested in history, especially concerning WWII. My Step Great Grandfather, Grandpa Albert, aka Albert Foret, served in the 11th Armored Division, and though I did have the chance to meet him, I was very little and don't really remember him. I never really got the chance to talk to him about his time in the service and would love to find out more about him. If anyone can maybe offer me any stories or tidbits about him or of his travels during his time in the 11th, I would be very thankful! Thanks and God bless!

I am trying to find out if there is anyone still alive who can share any stories about my father pfc Gail Nelson Blakely-he was a member of the 575th and told very little to his wife Esther, ,or any of his seven children.

I have tried for years to find a site that has free access, I just am curious if someone could tell me anything??

Here is what we know:
he was a gunner repair man on a half track
he freed prisoners at a concentration camp
he was 18 when he entered the war

from all we hear he knew how to make danishes???

he was married for 34 years, and most of his battalion mates are from Ohio.

Thomas Camby from Ohio was one of his closest friends from the war.

he died in 1986 and he is my greatest hero because of his military service.
He had me when he was 47 years old and he would be 85 in September if he was still living.
the picture is of me, my sister, Lori Gayle, and my wife-whom he never met.

Any antedotal stories or battle stories from anyone would be greatly appreciated

I just discovered this site as a result of an organization in Philadelphia for WWII Vets. I guess I am doing the same as a lot of folks I see in trying to locate anyone that may have known my Dad during the time he served with the 11th Armored Division. He passed away in 96, but I have been getting more involved in all of the things that he just could never speak of as a 19 year old in combat. His name is Willard T. Barrowman. Anyone that recalls him please feel free to e-mail me!

My Great Uncle Robley C. Reher served in the 11th armored in WWII. I know he met with his fellow comrades before he passed away in 2001. I was wondering if any still meet in the Chino, CA area. If so i would love to meet them. I currently working on my masters and plan on teaching history. I would love to talk with those who served so that one day i may convey to my students the importance of the greatest generation. Any help or direction would be so very appreciated.

His name is SSGT Elmer R. Miller from Wisconsin. He was a Tank Commander in the 22nd Tank Battalion, 11th Armored Division. Elmer was KIA on January 5, 1945 during the Battle of the Bulge. He is buried in the Luxembourg American Cemetery.

I would be extremely grateful for any information.

HR 1818 is a bill To amend title 10, United States Code, to extend military commissary and exchange store privileges to veterans with a compensable service-connected disability and to their dependents. Currently it has been referred to the House Armed Services Committee, Subcommittee on Military Personnel. I urge everyone to contact their U.S. Congressional Representative to show support for this benefit for our vets. Don't let this bill die in committee.

My grandfather, Frank Logozzo, was with the 11th at the Battle of the Bulge. He passed away 2 weeks ago and now we are all kicking ourselves for not writing down any of his stories. As I struggle with this loss, I have also come to realize that his passing signifies the end of an era, not only for me but for our country. Men of his generation are a different breed aqnd I know that if the generations of today had half the pride and work ethic he had, we may not be facing such hard time now. To all of you who are left from this era, I truly thank you and appreciate all you have sacrificed. I wish I had told my grandfather that.

I am currently doing some research on my grandfather, Elliott E. Lanier (Earl)Georgia, PFC, 778th Tank battallion, 11th Armored Division, Company D. I have a lot of pictures of his time during the war. I have pictures of him and friends at the 11th Batallion Recreation Hall, loading the U.S.S. Clairmont, in Czechlosvkia and Austria. I have just began my intensive research and would appreciate any help or assistance. My grandfather never felt like a hero, he always said that those men who died during the war were the real heroes, so I guess that is why he never felt like telling stories about his time in the war. I have a picture in which he wrote down some of the men's names. The men in the picture are as follows:

T4- McJay(Iowa)
Sgt. Van De Hey ? (Wis)
Sgt. Nass (Ill)?
T5 Cook (N.J.)
PFC Brewer (N.Y)
PFC Sitter(Mich)
T5 Buchs (Wis)
PFC Blackwell(ILL)
PFC Wilbur (Mass)
T4 Musitano (Pa)
T4 Timmian (Minn)
Harold Moen (Iowa)
Louis Spanish? (N.Y.)
Seraphain Fidow? (N.Y)
Feel free to contact me via email with any information on these men or my grandfather. Thanks

I've been doing a lot of research on the 778th as well, specifically Company C, where my grandfather served. I recognize the name PFC Blackwell, whose first name was Charles. He earned 2 Purple Heart Medals during the war. I don't see any other names that I recognize. I know that your grandfather was in Company D and a driver. Thomas W. Joyce Seattle, WA.
Wayne Aspeil Laurelville OR

I just sent this note to Mr. Vine who wanted a copy of one of the DVD's about the 11th AD. .... I wish him well. I wish you all a Blessed Season.

Dear Mr. Vine

Enclosed are the DVD's you asked about.
I am including some extras you might enjoy and want to share with friends.

I normally charge $20 each in advance but this is a Christmas gift to you. I you'd like to send money to the 11thAD Association for their general fund I would be honored that you do that rather than send me a check.
(address included)

Merry Christmas,

Vic Campbell www.buzzcreek.com

Enjoy photos and stories of his experience of WW2 and General Patton. Visit my photos and video interview of my grandfather, Aaron Teeple, by clicking on that little house icon under my name to the left. It will take you there. Let me know if you knew my grandfather and would like to say hello.

Enjoyed the pictures. What unit of the 11th was your grandfather in? I recognized some of the towns -- Kulmbach, Bayreuth, etc.

Sgt.Murray Lefkowitz - my father was part of the 11th Armored Division.

He said little about his experiences during the war.
I know he was a Yiddush/German speaking interviewer @ Matthausen, as well as some sort of military governor at Attersee Austria at the end of the war. I would greatly appreciate learning anything anyone can offer in the way of information about him and his role in the 11th Armored Div.
Thanks

I am an author of a book on a Spanish survivor of the Mauthausen death camp. In interviews, the survivor describes being assigned to a work detail outside Mauthausen when he met approaching U.S. forces, most likely the 26th Infantry and/or 11th Armored Divisions. He speaks of a deep friendship he developed with an Army official named Ramon Navarro (Novarro/Nobarro/Nabarro?), who assisted as an interpreter when the survivor was debriefed outside of the Mauthausen prior to the assault on the town and camp.

I would be very much interested in getting in touch with this soldier, if he is living. The only information I have about this officer is that he was among the U.S. forces to liberate Mauthausen, and he was Hispanic, fluent in Spanish. The survivor believed he was an officer, but this may be inaccurate.

If Ramon could be identified and located, I would be willing to reunite captive and liberator at my expense, possibly for your next reunion.

I would be extremely grateful for your help.

Hello. I have written the biography of a Spanish communist called Luis Montero. I was wondering if your man, Ramon Navarro was one of the Pochacas, and if he ever mentioned Luis Montero. He was the Secretary General of the Spanish Communist Party in the camp. Also, could you please give me the title of your book? Thank you.

In reading the many messages I noticed that so many descendants were searching for info on a father or grandfather. To all of you of the 11th who remain, please record your story on tape, in a scrapbook,or some way for your descendants. I have transcribed & edited around 200 letters that I wrote home during WWII, letters that mother saved. You should do this for your children.

My uncle was part of the 11th Armored Division and was killed in action at the Battle of the Bulge. His Name was Wilbur A. Hochman PFC. I am doing my best to find information about him but it has been spotty. I think he was in the 55th armored infantry battalion and I think he died between 12/31/44 and 1/31/45. He was from Chicago and had three sisters and a brother. I would appreciate any information I can get. Thanks! God Bless Our Military!

(391) I am searching for my grandfather. He could be a member of the 11th division in WWII. My grandmother was working in Austria, M?nzkirchen until the year 1945. My mother was born in February 1946. It is very important for me to find my grandfather, because he is a part of my family. Perhaps my grandfather is still living?
This man on the picture could be my grandfather. I only have this picture, nothing else. Please who can help me? Thank you.

I have been trying to get info on the 480th for some time with no avail. This is the first. Anyone who can help route me to someplace for historical records, pictures, would be appreciated.
