Tibor "Ted" Rubin was a 15 year old prisoner in KZ Mauthausen when the camp was liberated by a unit (D41CAV) of the 11th Armored Division. He later emigrated to the United States, and served in the US Army during with distinction during the Korean War. On September 23, 2005 he was belatedly awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor by President George W. Bush. The President's remarks, and the Citation recognizing Corporal Rubin's remarkable achievements in line of duty are posted there.
