Lexington & Concord Tour Join us for a drive to the sites where the American Revolution
began. Our coach will bring us to Lexington, a quiet farming community
in 1775, Our guide will relate the events leading up to the march of the
Red Coats from Boston out into the countryside and the story of Paul
Revere’s ride. At Lexington, we will have time to walk on the Green
where the first patriots were killed at dawn on April 18, 1775. Then we
will continue to Concord where our militia marched on the Red Coats
guarding the North Bridge and fired “the shot heard round the
world.” The war had begun. There will be some walking, perhaps 100
yards at the North Bridge.
A three hour buffet dinner cruise along the Boston waterfront.
Enjoy hospitality and a buffet luncheon at the home of Mrs. Joanne
Holbrook Patton. Mrs. Patton’s father, General Willard “Hunk”
Holbrook, commanded the 11th Armored Division's Combat Command A.
Her father-in-law, General George S. Patton, commanded the United
States Third Army. Our gratitude goes out to Mrs. Patton for graciously
extending this invitation to us.
Come with us on a coach tour of scenic Boston. Our guide will point
out the highlights of this lovely old city, from the North End where
Paul Revere and Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy were born to the USS
Constitution, the oldest active warship in the world. From Fenway Park,
home of the 2004 and 2007 World Series Champion Red Sox, to the Old
South Meeting House where the Boston Tea Party began. Lunch on this tour
will be at the Union Oyster House, the oldest continuously run
restaurant in the country. Time permitting, we will also get a look at
Harvard University, the oldest college in America. and the Esplanade
where the Boston Pops play on the Fourth of July. You’ve seen it on
television. Now you can see the real thing. ************************************************************************************** Boston
